FDA Denies Political Pressure

You probably already know about mifeprostone's (Mifeprex) labeling changes. Here's a more detailed article from ObGyn News, and a prime example of "sometimes there's just one side to the story".

Towards the end of the article, we have

Both sides in the debate over abortion weighed in immediately on this labeling action.


followed by statements from Concerned Women for America (CWA) and Christian Medical Association (CMA) [signatories to a petition to withdraw the drug off the market], and Planned Parenthood (PP).

The problem is that this was a factual article, not an opinion piece. Irrespective of CWA's and CMA's position in the abortion debate [or, for that matter, PP's], the mechanism of action of mifepristone, and its side effects are still the same. This drug does not cause ectopic pregnancies, nor does it cause sepsis.
