I haven't read this book, but the reviews of it on are great. Personally, I like the NuvaRing, and have found that I have less breakthrough bleeding than with any other method. It also has a lower estrogen level than the other combined hormonal contraceptives, and thus a reduced side effect profile (less breast tenderness, nausea, etc). Additionally, its effectiveness is the same, regardless of body weight of the user (Ortho Evra isn't recommeded for women over 198 lbs., and OC's aren't as affective in women over 155 lbs.) I have been using the Nuva Ring for 2 1/2 years, I change it once a month, and haven't had a period since! (No, I don't work for them).

Good to hear about your positive NuvaRing experience. For the right patient, this is a great method--both for pregnancy protection, and menstrual management.

As for the book: it's a must read! [Yes, I am the author ;-).]
