Judge Says Female Infants Are Teh Sexy

According to Carson City District Judge Bill Maddox sexual attraction to female infants is *the* natural impulse for most men.

Upon reading the article (via feministing), my first reaction was "No way; this is made up! The reporter misunderstood, or misquoted Judge Maddox." And then I read the transcript and realized it's even worse than what the reporter describes. Judge Maddox makes it clear that he's talking about a carefully considered, professional opinion, as opposed to just a personal belief:

I have been doing -- I have been in the criminal justice system in the State of Nevada and probably all over the United States for almost 30 years, Mr. Excell. I was the primary person in the District Attorney's office when I was a District Attorney who prosecuted child abuse cases. I consider sexual offenses against children as abuse.

I have come to I think understand a little bit about -- the doctor here didn't really add much to my knowledge about it.

When I was US Attorney my office prosecuted a lot of significant types. One of them was a guy named Ruben Sterling who was the largest pornographer in the world. We prosecuted him. So I have been involved and had a lot of time to think about it, dealt with victims and even had occasion when I was in private practice to defend people accused of it. I have had a lot of experience with this.

It's my impression from all the experts that I have talked to, and it's been a fair number of them, that the doctor, the way he put it, isn't quite the way I put it.

These kinds of offenses are problems with impulse control. When I say that it's my understanding that most men are sexually attracted to young women. When I say young women I don't just mean women that are appropriately you should be attracted to. I mean women from the time they're one all the way up until they're a hundred.

I couldn't find the doctor's testimony, so I don't know what the medical testimony was. But it's clear from the judge's comments that he's not talking about a personal opinion. As per Judge Maddox, he's not getting his information from the voices in head or the Easter Bunny.

Fine, then. Let's see the evidence. Where are the data showing that Most.Men.Are Sexually Attracted To.Female.Infants?

Bottom line: In anticipation of the judge presenting all those studies in support of his position on most men's objects of sexual attraction, I'm at the ready with an oversupply of estrogen patches and Depo syringes.
